Normal sudoku rules apply. Each cage must extend into an orthogonally adjacent cell so that it contains a total of three digits (ie dominoes become trominoes!). Cages cannot extend into the same cell or into other cages (ie cages do not overlap). The small clue in the top left corner of a cage gives the sum of all three of the digits it contains. Digits cannot repeat within cages.
