Normal sudoku rules apply. The white region is divided into 12 five-cell cages, one each of the 12 pentominoes. Digits may not repeat in a cage. A large moon indicates a boundary between cages whose totals differ by 1 if the moon is white and by a factor of 2 if the moon is black. A small moon indicates that two cells belong to the same cage: those cells differ by 1 if the moon is white and by a ratio of 2 if it is black. There may be undiscovered moons.
